Changes planned for the October 15, 2023

La Joma Corsa dei Castelli will start from the garden in front of the Miramare Castle at 10 a.m. on Oct. 15, 2023 and will take place over a 10-km course, running through the city streets to the finish line located in Piazzale delle Milizie inside San Giusto Castle around 11:30 a.m., following the following route:

TEMPORARY CHANGES TO THE ROAD SYSTEM FOR OCTOBER 15, 2023

Temporary traffic interruption, along the coastal road SR14 direction Trieste, on Sunday, October 15, 2023 from 06:00 to 14:00.
Temporary interruption of traffic, along the semi-carriageway on the sea side, from Bivio di Miramare direction Trieste to Largo Roiano on Sunday, Oct. 15 from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. for preparation/disassembly (laying of barriers) route and safety of participants during the race;
interruption for the time strictly necessary for the passage of athletes, for all vehicles limited to the sections affected by the race route;
Temporary traffic interruption from Largo Roiano to Riva Tre Novembre right side
of the roadway direction (one lane on the sea side), which will be demarcated by barriers. Cars coming from Roiano and Via Pauliana can pass through Via Cavour to reach Via Milano. Cars coming from Largo Santos will continue on the Via Cavour slip road and then turn onto Riva Tre Novembre to merge onto the lane heading towards Riva del Mandracchio. Cars exiting the Pier IV park will continue on the same direction;
Temporary traffic interruption on Riva 3 Novembre to Tommaseo Square, with right-side lane partialization from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. Traffic will still be guaranteed for emergency and rescue vehicles;
Temporary traffic interruption from Tommaseo Square to the intersection with Via del Mercato Vecchio, from 9:30 a.m. to 12 noon in both directions;
Partial and temporary traffic interruption on Corso Italia from Via Canal Piccolo to the height of Piazza Benco, with partial lane on the left side maintaining the 4-meter lane from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The lane used by the athletes
SR14 “della Venezia Giulia” Trieste coastal road: for those arriving from outside Trieste after the Lisert highway exit, continue on the freeway following the Trieste Centro signs to reach the city center.

TEMPORARY TRANSIT BANS FOR THE DAY OCTOBER 15, 2023

prohibition of transit on all stretches intersecting the race route, which, however, will be manned by personnel authorized by the organization equipped with appropriate high-visibility devices (flags and vests);
Transit ban from the Junction to Miramare Castle from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m;
Transit prohibited entry and exit Park Bovedo from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Establishment of a no-transit ban exit Largo Santos intersection with Via Cavour from 9:30 a.m. to 12 noon (n.b. exiting cars will have to continue on the Via Cavour slip road);
No traffic in Benco Square, from 10 a.m. to 11:15 a.m;
Institution of prohibition of transit Via del Monte from 10:00 am to 11:15 am
No traffic on Via Capitolina from number 29 (height of intersection with Via del Monte) to Via San Giusto from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

PARKING BANS

No parking on Miramare Avenue right side dir.center from 00.00 to 11.30 am;
No parking on Corso Italia right side from 00:00 to 11:30;
Moped parking:
- 1 Corso Italia Intersection Via del Teatro Romano height civ. 3c;
  2. Corso Italia / Largo Riborgo;
  3. Corso Italia height civ. 9 (Rossoni Gallery);
No parking in Benco Square, left side only (moped parking), from 00:00 to 11:30 a.m;
No parking on both sides of Via del Monte only the last 50 meters from 00:00 to 11:30;
No parking on Via Capitolina from number 29 (height intersection with Via del Monte) left side to Via San Giusto from 00:00 to 11:30;
Institution of parking ban on two stalls in the parking area in Piazzale dell Cattedrale.

OTHER COMMUNICATIONS

cleaning in the start area and along the course will be provided by Promorun staff;
athletes during the race will keep to the right by occupying the lane of their own direction of travel, the event will be escorted by relay bikes of the organizing company;
to the Trieste Transportation Company please consider changes in traffic patterns in relation to city bus stops in areas affected by the race route;
to Friuli Venezia Giulia Strade is requested the presence of personnel in order to divert the traffic of cars coming from the highway in the direction of Aurisina econtestualmente is requested issuance in the light panels, along the highway direction Trieste, signaling coastal road closed from 6.00 am to 2.00 pm.

Ensuring the safety of participants and the smooth flow of traffic will be in attendance:

20 motorcycles with experienced staff who attend the Giro d’Italia every year;
80 volunteers along the route;
20 Promorun staff

The total number of personnel employed during the event along the route is about 120 people.
