For those who sign up for either the competitive race or the non-competitive Ten, it is a 10-kilometer challenge that runs through some of Trieste’s most fascinating places, providing unique panoramic views.
The Family Run offers a shorter and more accessible 8-kilometer route, ideal for families and those who want to enjoy the experience in a more relaxed way.
The Corsa dei Castelli is an event that welcomes participants of all ages, however, there are some specific limitations. For the competitive 10k race, participants must be at least 16 years old. This is to ensure the safety of competitors in a race that requires a certain amount of stamina and physical condition.
As for the Ten non-competitive and Family Run 8k, there is no age limit. These rides are designed to be a fun and engaging experience for everyone, regardless of age. Whether you are a seasoned runner looking for a new challenge, or you want to share the excitement of a race with your loved ones, the Corsa dei Castelli has something to offer everyone. Remember, the important thing is to participate and enjoy the event!
For the 10-kilometer race, competitive or non-competitive (Ten), the start is set at the picturesque Miramare Castle. From there, runners will head along the Barcola waterfront, an area fascinating for its natural beauty and sea views. Next, they will go through the heart of the city, including crossing the historic Piazza UnitĂ d’Italia, Europe’s largest open square by the sea. The finish line is located in the Piazzale delle Milizie, inside the majestic San Giusto Castle.
As for the Family Run 8k, the starting point is also Miramare Castle. Participants will follow a route along the picturesque Barcola waterfront, enjoying a pleasant and scenic ride. The race ends in the historic Piazza UnitĂ d’Italia, where families and friends can celebrate the shared experience together.
In both cases, participants will have the opportunity to appreciate the architectural and natural beauty of Trieste while putting themselves through a sporting challenge.
To ensure a comfortable and safe ride during the Corsa dei Castelli, it is important to choose the right equipment. Here are some useful suggestions:
- Check the weather forecast: The weather can greatly affect your comfort while running, so it is important to check the weather forecast for the day of the event and prepare accordingly.
- Dress in layers: Dressing in layers allows you to adjust your body temperature according to weather conditions and intensity of physical activity. Consider wearing a tank top or short-sleeved T-shirt under a long-sleeved shirt. This way, you can remove the top layer if you start to get hot.
- Choose breathable fabrics: Breathable fabrics help wick sweat away from your skin, keeping you dry and comfortable while running. Avoid cotton fabrics, which absorb moisture and can make you feel damp and cold.
- Lightweight and cushioned running shoes: Running shoes should be light enough not to weigh down your steps, but they should also have adequate cushioning to protect your feet and joints from impact with the ground. Make sure your shoes are well-fitting and comfortable, and if possible, try running in them before the race to make sure they do not cause problems or discomfort.
By preparing properly, you will be able to focus on running and fully enjoy the experience of the 100 uniTS Castles Race.
A free shuttle service is provided to facilitate access to the starting point of the Corsa dei Castelli. This service will be available at the Trieste Central Train Station. Shuttles will leave from the side of the Saba Silos parking lot and transport participants to Miramare Castle, the starting point of the race.
The shuttle service will run from 7:30 a.m. to 8:45 a.m., ensuring efficient and timely transportation for all participants.
We advise you to arrive on time to avoid possible delays and start your race as smoothly as possible. Remember, preparation is an essential part of making the most of the Corsa dei Castelli experience.
To ensure the well-being and hydration of participants during the Corsa dei Castelli, two refreshment stations have been organized along the route.
The first refreshment point is located halfway, at km 5. This provides an ideal opportunity for runners to take a short break, recharge their energy and hydrate before tackling the second half of the race.
The second refreshment point is located in the finish area. This allows participants to refuel after their effort and recover before post-race celebrations.
These refreshment stations are designed to ensure that all participants maintain proper hydration levels and enjoy the event safely and comfortably. Remember to make use of these services while running. Your health and well-being are important to us!
Participation in the Corsa dei Castelli requires different conditions depending on the type of race you register for.
For the competitive 10k race, you must be a Fidal member or hold a Runcard. In addition, you will need to present a valid medical certificate on the day of the race. This is to ensure that all participants in the competitive race are in proper physical condition to meet the challenge.
For the non-competitive Ten and Family Run, however, no medical certificate is required. These races are designed to be inclusive events that welcome everyone, regardless of fitness level or running experience.
However, in any case, we recommend that all participants get a health check before the event to make sure they are in good physical shape and ready to enjoy the ride safely.
Certainly, the Corsa dei Castelli is an event designed to welcome everyone, regardless of desire or ability to compete. If you prefer to enjoy running more relaxed and without the competitive factor, the 8-kilometer Family Run is the perfect option for you.
This route allows you to walk along Trieste’s beautiful waterfront in the company of family or friends, enjoying the view and discovering the beauty of the city. There is no pressure of time or performance, the focus is on sharing a healthy outdoor experience, discovering the city and encouraging a love of sports.
So regardless of your fitness level or personal goals, the Corsa dei Castelli gives you the opportunity to participate and have fun. Remember, the important thing is to involve yourself and enjoy the day!
Yes, you can absolutely delegate another person to pick up your bib and race pack for you. We understand that sometimes commitments can prevent you from personally picking up these items, so we have a process in place to simplify things.
If you would like someone else to pick up your bib and race packet for you, you will need to follow these steps:
- Fill out and sign the proxy form and privacy form. These documents are available for download on our website, www.corsadeicastelli.it.
- Provide the delegate with a copy of the letter confirming registration for the Corsa dei Castelli.
- You will also need to provide a copy of your ID to verify your identity and the validity of the proxy.
Remember, the person picking up the bib and race pack for you must present all these documents at the time of pickup. This process is put in place to ensure that all bibs and race packs are distributed correctly and safely.
Unfortunately, if an athlete cannot participate in the Corsa dei Castelli, a name change on the bib is not possible. This policy is in place to ensure proper identification of participants for security and event organization issues.
Also, it is important to note that there is no refund in case an athlete cannot participate in the competition. This is due to the administrative and organizational costs incurred in ensuring the registration of each participant.
We know there may be unforeseen circumstances that could prevent participation, but we encourage all athletes to carefully consider their commitment before signing up to ensure a fair and efficient process for all participants.
Yes, for the competitive 10 km race and the non-competitive Ten, we offer a convenient bag storage service. This service is located in the start area at Miramare Castle, providing a safe place for athletes to deposit their bags before the race.
To facilitate identification, each athlete will receive a sticker corresponding to his or her bib number to place on his or her bag. This helps ensure that bags are easily recognized and returned to their rightful owners after the competition.
Bags can be delivered until 9:30 a.m. the morning of the race. This gives you ample time to deposit your bag and prepare for departure.
After the race, you can pick up your bag in the finish area at San Giusto Castle. Remember to keep your bib with you, as it will be used to identify your bag. This bag storage service is designed to make your experience at the Corsa dei Castelli as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.
Unfortunately, due to logistical limitations, we are unable to provide a shower service during the Corsa dei Castelli 2023. We understand that this may be an inconvenience for some participants and apologize for any inconvenience.

Despite this limitation, our main goal remains to ensure that all participants have a positive and memorable experience during the Corsa dei Castelli. Thank you for your understanding.
Yes, all athletes who make it to the finish line of the Corsa dei Castelli 2023 will receive a medal. This is a way to recognize the commitment, determination and sportsmanship of each participant.
The medal not only symbolizes the achievement, but is also a tangible reminder of your success. It is a token of your participation in this unique event through the beautiful landscape of Trieste, from Miramare Castle to San Giusto Castle.
We are proud to celebrate each and every athlete who takes part in this race, regardless of time run or ranking. The main goal is to participate, have fun and surpass one’s personal finish line. Every athlete who completes the race is a winner in our view, and the medal is a symbol of that.
