UniTS hosted the presentation of the #100UniTS Corsa dei Castelli, a FIDAL-certified 10-kilometer running race planned for Sunday, Oct. 2024 by Asd Promorun.
This year, the event is enhanced by a collaboration with the University of Trieste, which is celebrating a century of contributions to research, excellence, creativity and ingenuity. The 2024 edition of the Castles Race will see UniTS at the center of attention, with the centennial logo and cherry red, the official color of the celebrations, decorating medals and jerseys. Promorun, through outstanding events in terms of technical quality and environmental and social sensitivity, confirms the trust received from the institutions, now enriched by the prestigious University of Trieste, testifying to a solid territorial bond.
CENTENARY – Rector Roberto Di Lenarda highlighted the importance of a sporting event in the university’s agenda dedicated to Trieste and its guests, inviting people to visit 100anni.units.it for more events.
RACE – The competition will offer a unique view of Trieste, from the start in Miramare to the finish in San Giusto, through a route that enhances its architectural and cultural richness. The race is distinguished by a fast first 8 km and the last km, nicknamed “The Wall,” to San Giusto Castle. The event also includes the Non Competitive Ten and the Family Run 8 km, the latter with a renewed commitment to the Burlo Garofolo Foundation. UniTS community celebrates centennial with a day of sports as success of the International Road Race Running Match u.23 10k , which will feature young international athletes.
HISTORY – Promorun has always been distinguished by high-quality events and the presence of world-class athletes. The focus extends to amateurs with events such as the Family Run and the Non-Competitive Ten, as well as charity initiatives and school projects.
SPORT AND TOURISM – The link between sports and tourism drives Promorun’s efforts to promote the area, aiming to reveal the natural, historical and cultural beauty of Friuli-Venezia Giulia.
