TRIESTE – It is the largest team in the solidarity which again takes the field with ASD Promorun to support a local excellence, Burlo Garofolo Foundation. An alliance born two years ago with the Burlo Garofolo Hospital and aimed at ensuring continuity of a project that aims to achieve ever new goals in the world of healthcare. Three months after the 7th Castles Run, a FIDAL-approved 10-kilometer road race, the brainchild of theCouncillor for Sport of the Municipality of Trieste Giorgio Rossi, organized by ASD Promorun with the cooperation of the Municipality of Trieste and the Friuli-Venezia Giulia Region, of Sunday, October 15 Teamwork to support the project restarts “Resusci Junior” And purchase the eponymous mannequin.
THE RACE – The date is for Sunday, October 15, 2023, when the 7th Running of the Castles will see the start of the Miramare Castle from where the athletes will parade along the waterfront and then face in Unity Square and address “The Wall“, a few hundred meters characterized by high gradient, before concluding their labors in the courtyard of San Giusto Castle. For this edition, the event hosts the 1st International Road Race Running Match U23, an official stage in the run-up to the 2024 European Athletics Championships in Rome, which is included in the World Athletics calendar and will welcome more than ten foreign federations to the starting line-up who will have more than 100 under-23 athletes from their national teams compete.
Alongside the main event also the Non-competitive Ten, a parallel event but for which membership and presentation of a competitive medical certificate are not required, and the Family Run 8 km whose purpose is to spread the culture of sports as a fundamental habit for mental and physical well-being.
RESUSCI JUNIOR – For cardiopulmonary resuscitation to be effective and provide better outcomes, it requires ongoing training. This is based not only on theory, but learning skills through the use of high-fidelity dummies must be ensured. With this in mind, a manikin was identified with a link to an app that practitioners can download to their smartphones, which measures the quality of cardiopulmonary resuscitation, in terms of depth, rate, release and position of compressions and effectiveness of ventilations, and also suggests corrective changes to resuscitative maneuvers. The manikin could be used in the intensive care unit, allowing daily skills maintenance in the resuscitative setting. INFO
SOLIDARITY – ASD Promorun joins the project by donating part of the proceeds from Family Run registrations.
